Step 2. Clean, Organize and DeclutterThe next step in our three-step process is to clean, organize and declutter the home so that the prospective buyer can actually SEE the wonderful features of the home they are buying. After all, these are the assets they are purchasing.
Don't worry about the time involved in this step. Actually, you don't even have to think of it as home organization and decluttering - think of it as "selective packing for the move". That's much more fun. We'll show you how to easily tackle these tasks so they aren't overly time consuming and burdensome to you. After all, you want to get to the fun stuff which is staging the home, but you want to do it in the right order. Your time spent on Steps 1 and 2 will be richly rewarded when your home sells for more money.

We'll approach each type of room one at a time: At this point in the three step process, you can choose to organize your time by task (either declutter, organize and clean the whole house THEN stage each room) or do Steps 2 and 3 one room at a time (for example, declutter, organize and clean the powder room THEN stage the powder room before proceeding to the next room which might be the kitchen). Either way you choose, after finishing all three steps for the whole house, you will have a perfectly staged home that is uncluttered and in perfect condition.
