Looking for the right Home Staging Course?
Taking a home staging course involves a lot more than just one class that will teach you everything in a day or two. It's a good beginning, but probably not enough to start a career or
business.
What a course can do is give you an overview of the design theories, staging techniques and strategies that are used.
In fact, we may be biased, but you can get a darn good home staging course just by reading this site. We've put our years of experience into the pages on this site and we feel that it's as complete as any coursebook or ebook you can find.
If traditional coursework and a classroom experience is ideal for you, then we have a few tips to help you in your selection process.
1. Be wary of courses that claim to teach you everything you need to know in a day or two. As an introduction, one or two days are fine. But make sure you are not signing up for a headache when you find out you need to sign up for more classes to learn the basics.
2. Find out who will be teaching the course and their professional credentials. Not all stagers are good teachers, not all teachers are good stagers. Try to find courses where you can have the best of both: a good instructor that has experience staging or a team-teachers.
3. Does the course offer a money-back satisfaction guarantee? Most reputable operators will offer some kind of buyer assurance with their courses.
4. Look for courses where you can "get into the field" and get some hands-on training. Learning by doing is sometimes the best
method for becoming proficient in a new skill. Having someone critique your work while you are working is priceless help.
5. Is the certification or accreditation worth the price? Some certifications are merely titles given to people who finish courses and are just pieces of paper in reality. If you are going to work towards professional recognition, make sure the organization is recognized and not just selling you an empty title.
6. You can ask to check out the course materials in advance. Will you be given textbooks or workbooks or other study aids? What is their testing procedure to make sure you have grasped the concepts taught in the course?
These are a few of the decision criteria you can use when you select a home staging course of study. You can also visit our
