Step 1. Preparing a Home for Sale
First Things First
Every great home staging adventure starts with a first step. Preparing a home for sale is the best first step to home selling. The home selling tips described on this site will help you sell your home faster because your home will stand out from the crowd.
When we stage a home for sale, we always use a three-step plan:
- Step 1. Get everything in proper working order
- Step 2. Clean, organize and declutter possessions
- Step 3. Redesign and stage the spaces
There is really no point in getting a good offer for a wonderfully staged home only to find out from the buyer's home inspector that the roof is starting to leak and the deal just might very well fall through. A lot of time and money has been wasted to get to that point with no hope of a deal. Every agent in town will soon know that the roof has "issues" and, in this market, issues mean that buyers will be directed somewhere there aren't any issues. The devil is in the details, as they say, and those details merit your full attention before you list a home for sale. You can do the pre-listing inspection yourself, or hire a professional inspector. If you choose to do it yourself, we haveeverything you need to get the job done.
We use a detailed checklist to guide us as we examine every area of the home that is being sold and we start with

Mechanical Systems
Fixtures

Once we are satisfied that all of the home's systems and features are in great shape, we turn our attention to reducing the amount of "stuff" in the home and go to:
