Is "Sell This House"
one of your favorites?
If you watch "Sell This House" then you know it's about home staging. The ideas on the show are creative and well executed, but not everyone has a "Roger" to do all the design work and labor, too!
Like the other home staging shows that are on TV, "Sell This House" selects a few spaces in the subject home to redo and stage. Some of the projects are a bit more extensive than we usually get involved in -- but this is television and the impact needs to be visually great. Without a huge staff, and prepaid labor, a lot of the projects featured on the show are
probably out of reach for the average homeowner needing staging
help. However, you can take some good ideas from the show and
employ them in your own home when you stage it.
Our advice is to not only watch as the project unfold, but to listen to the dialog between Roger and Tanya and the homeowners. There is a lot of great advice and some good tips to be learned from the dialog that apply to most staging projects - not just the one featured in the episode.
We have put together many of our own ideas and practices into this website for you to read about, and hopefully, learn about home staging. Our method is a three-step process to get a home ready for the market and we take you through that process step-by-step.
Whether you are a homeowner and want to learn how to stage your own home, or someone who is considering staging as your next career, we have scores of pages full of worthwhile information and tips. Just follow along as we take you through the entire
staging and preparing process.
We suggest you start at the beginning, at either our
Home Page
or the first step in our process which is
Preparing a Home for Sale.
Everything you probably will want to know about getting a home ready for sale and staging is on these pages. If you want, you can even download our checklists for inspecting and staging
here
which are forms that we use when we go through a prospective home the first time. All the information is in our text pages, but the forms are helpful if you want to be more methodical and
keep records of what you need to do.
